Monetarium has over 3,500 clients that are active collectors in every major area of numismatics. Every year, we spend (literally) millions of dollars on coins and banknotes – everything from Ten Pound banknotes to 1930 pennies to decimal proof coins. In fact, we could easily triple our turnover if we had more access to good quality coins & banknotes!
We Pay Strong Prices.
On average, we need to spend at least half a million dollars each month on stock. We know we are often competing against other dealers and auction houses, and so we make sure our offer for any item or collection is as strong as we can make it. Our business model allows us to make quick & efficient sales, enabling us to work on margins as little as 11%.
We Pay Promptly.
We are committed to replying to all offers of stock quickly and professionally. As soon we have the information we need, we’ll make an offer straight away. Once our offer is accepted, we can pay by cheque, direct deposit or in trade. We have the financial resources to acquire collections of any size, and will make sure you’re satisfied with our terms.
Selling to Us Is Simple.
We treat everyone that sells to us with a high level of professionalism & integrity, regardless of their level of numismatic knowledge. We will go through what you have, let you know how much it is worth on the open market, then let you know how much we are prepared to pay for it. If you need additional information to help you decide if our offer is fair, we’ll be happy to provide it. Once you are satisfied, we will arrange for immediate payment.
Independent Appraisals Are Available.
If you are unsure if you want to sell your collection or not, but would like to know how much it would fetch in the current market, we are able to provide an independent appraisal for a fee. This can assist with insurance, in finalizing an estate or for superannuation purposes.
Most coins & banknotes are worth no more than their face or scrap value, even if they are decades old. Unless the items you have were acquired by a dedicated collector with an eye for quality, the chances of them being worth a significant amount of money is rather slim. If you have found some old coins, you might like to check our “spotter’s list” to see if any are scarce. If your coins aren’t listed, chances are they are only worth their scrap value.
